News 23.11.23. update.
Point testing and preset are being added. The new Southern engine shed baseboard and Wood Lane board, will be started in the next two weeks. The mock up of the new shed looks well but needs the board to be 15 inches instead of the planned 12 inches. Other work going on has formed the new control bench for Yeovil East.
NEWS 27.01.2024. UPDATE.
The on going work on Yeovil East has been greatly speeded up by the new lifting board system see the video above.

NEWS FROM THE CIRCLE 26.09.24.
It has been said that Graham is a '’know it all’. This is a myth put about by others. A twin reverse loop design on the layout has proved to defeat my genius and I have begged for help from someone who knows better.

NEWS FROM THE CIRLE SUNDAY 11.08.24
Due to overrunning works at the Holding Roads, through trains will be working between Yeovil East and Pen Hill only.
Despite the overtime worked by the engineers, extra works has caused the project to overrun. The Chief Engineer hopes to complete all works very soon.
NEWS FROM THE CIRCLE THURSDAY 08.08.24.
The new track layout and fitting the points with point motors is well under way for the Holding Roads at the lift end, the changes are in keeping with the new track lines over the lift bridge, this track was tested last week and work very well.
We have removed the track base board with the track, to relay and rewire this section and for fitting the point motors ( this is a test for the Pen Hill section). Working with the base boards on a bench is so much faster and easier than trying to work under the base board. I said that the layout will be working next Monday so, to make sure, we will be working tomorrow and Saturday, I pray that it will all work so i can keep my word.
We have to fit the point motors, wire and test and then put the whole baseboard back into its place and connect the tracks from the lift bridge.
NEWS FROM THE CIRCLE MONDAY 29.07.24.
We had a late start today but, with members helping, a train passed from Yeovil East through Pen Hill on the fast line and on into the Holding Roads and then returned to Yeovil East. We had only two small problems, 1st a tacking pin was to high and the second was a small section of track on the return leg has not been powered yet. This section and the other new points will be working by next Monday.
NEWS from the Circle 12.05.24.
Since the last post many things have been achieved on the layout, Yeovil East is looking as it should, one building has lights installed and lamp standards have been fitted to the high street and to the platforms, all to be connected to the power.
The board joints at the wall end of Yeovil East board have been replaced and the new track run very well. The design of the old method will be looked at to improve it for the next board joint, I feel that the copper board should be thinner.
NEWS from the Circle 24.04.24.
LAST Monday we had a very good day with many hands on the job, the buildings have been temporarily replaced on Yeovil East and Pen Hill section cleared of stock and hoovered. A very GOOD day.
We hope to run Trains next Monday on the whole layout ?
NEWS from the Circle 29.3.2024.
The track has been reconnected but is still to be wired up and tested.
NEWS UPDATE 26.07.24.

NEWS 21.02.2024. UPDATE.
Track realignment has the first new point installed with point motor and wired in with the new accessory decoder. DUE to DPDs POOR management the new track and points were not delivered yesterday as planned, the driver said she or he could not find the Octagon in Taunton, the company’s phone help was as good as damp blotting paper!
Good news from todays meeting. Mondays testing of the power system, raised a problem, this has been put right and, today, all of the track testing threw up just 2 minor errors, all fixed. We can move on to preset testing.
NEWS 15.02.2024. UPDATE.
Work is going on at a good pace with members helping with testing, all good. The plan track realignment has been started with good progress, this change will remove the gap between the Wood lane baseboard and the wall, No more fall downs to the floor.
Ordering of the materials for the new baseboards will happen this week and a start will follow after delivery.
NEWS 09.02.2024. UPDATE.
During the last two weeks with members help, our problems have been put right, we only have 1 adjustment to make then Yeovil East will be ready for Preset testing. The next stage will be the new boards build. The southern shed base board and the replacement Wood lane board.
My target for this work is to be fully working for the Easter weekend (this year).
NEWS FROM THE CIRCLE 07.01.25.
The push for Christmas was a disaster! Southern shed board was fitted and working when the accessory decoder for the points failed and that after being pre tested and programmed and tested again before fitting. I was not able to hold the new unit, the fixing screws and the torch laying on my back to fix the new unit, the screws keep falling on to me, I do not have 5 hands! Rethink, so lifting the board was the only answer. However, we had added the Southern shed board and had not added any counter balance weight to the back of the Yeovil East board. So Pat and I had a very hard time lifting the whole board. NEW YEAR came and went, and we were back to the layout with Yeovil East standing up. What next you ask? yes you can ask and I will try to answer, we will do the things that are on the program for Yeovil East development of signal and point indication panels, street lighting, the platform lights and the building lights, these will be fitted and installed before the board is lowered again.
SOME GOOD NEWS!
Yesterday working went well, the aim to have the street and platform lights working happened. The next section to wire up will be the extra wires to the point motors is going well and this stage should be finished next week with some luck going our way!
Hope you all have a GOOD NEW year.
